September Secondary Supply Teachers & Cover Supervisors | Brighton & Surrounding Areas
Schools are preparing for September... and so am I.
Every September brings a wave of planned absences, training days, illness, timetable changes and increased demand for flexible staff.
To make sure the secondary schools I work with are properly supported from day one, I'm looking to build a reliable pool of Supply Teachers and Cover Supervisors before the new academic year begins.
I'm not advertising one specific vacancy.
I'm looking to build long‑term working relationships with dependable educators who enjoy flexible work and want to become trusted faces within local secondary schools across Brighton and the surrounding areas.
How Supply Really Works
Some work is booked weeks in advance.
Other bookings come in on the morning they're needed.
It's not unusual for schools to start contacting me from 6:30am (and occasionally even earlier) to arrange emergency cover for that day.
That means there will be occasions where I'll be calling educators from 6:30am onwards to offer work.
If you're happy picking up the occasional last‑minute booking, you'll often find schools begin requesting you by name once they've seen you in action.
What I'm Really Looking For
Reliability matters far more to me than availability.
You don't need to be available every day.
If you're only free on Tuesdays and Thursdays, that's absolutely fine.
What matters is that the availability you give me is genuine. If you tell me you're available on a Thursday, I want to be confident you'll either answer my call or get back to me quickly if a school needs support.
That's how great relationships are built—with schools and with educators.
Who This Would Suit
I'd love to hear from:
- Qualified Teachers (QTS)
- Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
- Experienced Cover Supervisors
- Graduates considering teacher training
- Sports coaches, tutors and youth workers with experience leading groups
- Educators looking for flexible work around family, study or other commitments
Many of my regular educators started by picking up the occasional day's supply before becoming trusted, regularly requested members of a school's wider team.
Access to a vehicle is advantageous, allowing you to travel to a wider range of schools, though it's by no means essential.
Practical Information
