About the Role

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced part‑time Teaching Assistant to support Early Years, KS1, and KS2 classes across primary schools within the South Gloucestershire area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support learning across Early Years, KS1, and KS2
  • Assist with classroom routines and promote positive behaviour
  • Provide targeted support to pupils of varying abilities
  • Help deliver learning activities set by the class teacher
  • Offer emotional and wellbeing support to pupils
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff
  • Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and school policies at all times

The Successful Candidate Will Have

  • Experience working with children
  • A strong understanding of primary‑aged pupils’ learning needs
  • Confidence supporting across different year groups
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (guidance available if needed)
  • Valid enhanced DBS check
  • Enthusiasm, patience, and an ability to build positive relationships
  • Adaptability and ability to work effectively in a range of classrooms
  • Experience working with children with SEND requirements
  • Experience with PECS and/or Makaton (highly desirable)
  • 5 days per week availability
