Experienced Teaching Assistant – Primary School, Newport

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a fantastic Primary School in Newport who are seeking an Experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team for an ASAP start.

This is a full-time, term-time position initially through Teaching Personnel, with the potential for the school to offer a direct contract in the future. The role is based primarily within Nursery and Reception, supporting children aged 3–4 in a nurturing and engaging early years environment.

The role:

Supporting learning across Nursery and Reception classes

Assisting with phonics, spelling, reading, and writing sessions

Providing support to pupils with mild Additional Learning Needs

Working closely with class teachers to support day-to-day classroom activities

Helping to create a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

Unqualified Teaching Assistant (Level 3)

Full-time, term-time only

ASAP start

Based in Newport

Paid weekly via Teaching Personnel

The ideal candidate:

Has a genuine passion for working with children and supporting learning

Is reliable, committed, and eager to develop within education

Has a basic understanding of the primary curriculum

Experience or awareness of ALN/SEN is desirable but not essential

Holds (or is willing to apply for) an enhanced DBS registered on the update service

Trial days can be arranged immediately for suitable candidates.
