Teaching Personnel is recruiting caring and committed Learning Mentors to provide personalised support to pupils in schools across Exeter and the surrounding areas. Role details

  • Pay Rate: £90–£100 per day
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm

As a Learning Mentor, you will

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 mentoring and support to pupils with additional needs
  • Adapt learning strategies to meet individual needs and learning styles
  • Support the implementation of EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour support plans
  • Promote independence, confidence, engagement, and emotional wellbeing
  • Support communication, behaviour regulation, and personal development
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and wider support staff to ensure consistent support

We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND (desirable but not essential)
  • Transferable experience (e.g., care, youth work, mentoring, family SEND experience)
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own car
  • A genuine desire to support pupils and develop within education
