A SEND Primary / Secondary School in Chippenham is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team.
The Role:
You will be responsible for supporting classroom teachers in providing the best support possible to students ranging in the ages 8-19 years old, with various Special Educational Needs such as:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
- Speech, Language and Communication needs (SLCN)
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
This residential academy for boys delivers both education and care to a wide range of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND). The residential aspect of the school enables students access to an extensive range of extracurricular experiences, stability and time to build confidence and skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Who We Are Looking For:
- SEN(D) and SEMH experience
- A patient, resilient, innovative and caring individual with a compassionate approach to supporting children
- Able to collaborate with teachers and other support staff
- Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
