Academic Skills Coach (Learning Support Assistant)

Pay: £14.38 per hour
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Academic Skills Coach (Learning Support Assistant) to join a welcoming college in Eastleigh from September.
This is an excellent opportunity to support young people aged 16–19 with Special Educational Needs (SEN), additional needs, and learning difficulties, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals in a supportive college environment.
The Role:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional needs.
- Assist learners in accessing the curriculum and developing independence.
- Support students with a range of learning difficulties and SEN.
- Work closely with teaching staff to implement individual learning plans.
- Encourage confidence, engagement, and positive learning outcomes.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience supporting young people aged 16–19 with SEN and additional learning needs.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Academic Skills Coach, or in a similar support role is desirable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
