SEN Teaching Assistant in East Grinstead

Rate: £90–£110/day (term-time salary)
Contract: Full-time, permanent, temp to perm
Location: East Grinstead area (SEMH provision)

Responsibilities

• Provide daily emotional and behavioural support to pupils in SEMH classes
• Implement taught social–emotional programmes (e.g., restorative practise, self-regulation)
• Support class teachers in lesson delivery, differentiation, and behaviour management
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils; act as a consistent adult presence
• Facilitate small-group mentoring and peer-support sessions
• Keep detailed records of behaviour incidents, interventions, and pupil wellbeing
• Help run pupil assemblies, social skills groups, and enrichment activities

Requirements / Advantages

• Child-Only Enhanced DBS mandatory
• Driving licence advantageous for flexibility
• Experience working with SEMH, youth work, or pastoral care preferred

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
