We are currently seeking a nurturing, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Vale of Glamorgan, supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with young children and understands the importance of creating positive early learning experiences.

Whether your background is in a school, nursery, childcare setting or Early Years provision, we'd love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting children's learning through creative, play-based activities whilst helping them develop the confidence, communication and social skills that provide the foundations for future success.

Working closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team, you will support children as they explore, discover and learn through a stimulating and engaging environment.

Every day will be different, from supporting phonics and early literacy activities to encouraging imaginative play, outdoor learning and social development.

You will help create a warm, inclusive and nurturing classroom where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn.

  • Support children within the EYFS classroom through play-based and adult-led learning activities.
  • Assist with the development of early communication, language and literacy skills, including phonics.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interactions.
  • Support children's personal, social and emotional development.
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
  • Help prepare engaging learning environments and classroom resources.
  • Promote curiosity, creativity and a love of learning through hands-on activities.
  • Observe children's progress and share feedback with the class teacher.
  • Support children during indoor and outdoor learning opportunities.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Help maintain a safe, caring and inclusive environment where every child can flourish.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to pupils' overall wellbeing.
  • Has experience working with young children in a school, nursery, preschool, childcare or similar setting.
  • Is caring, patient and enthusiastic about supporting children's development.
  • Understands the importance of learning through play and child-centred approaches.
  • Has an interest in early literacy, communication and language development.
  • Can build positive relationships with children and support their emotional wellbeing.
  • Is confident supporting children of varying abilities and needs.
  • Works well as part of a team and uses initiative when required.
  • Brings energy, creativity and a positive attitude to the classroom every day.

Experience supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) is desirable but not essential.

To be considered for this role, you will need

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC), or willingness to apply.
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Teaching Personnel can provide guidance and support with EWC and DBS applications where required.

  • Competitive weekly pay.
  • Dedicated support from an experienced Education Consultant.
  • Free CPD courses and professional development opportunities.
  • Access to safeguarding and compliance training.
  • £50 referral bonus for every successful referral.
  • Ongoing support throughout your placement.
