Are you a resilient, confident and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role? A supportive primary school in Stockton is seeking a committed 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to work closely with a Year 4 pupil who presents challenging behaviour.
Location: Stockton
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: £(Apply online only) per week
The Role:
- Providing consistent 1:1 support to a Year 4 child with SEND
- Supporting emotional regulation and managing challenging behaviour in a calm, positive way
- Assisting the pupil to engage with learning and classroom routines
- Implementing behaviour strategies in line with the school’s policies
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff
- Helping to maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children with SEND, particularly challenging behaviour
- Confident, patient and able to remain calm under pressure
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
- SEND or TA qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Proactive, reliable and a strong team player
