Design and Technology Teacher
Darlington
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: From £170 per day (dependent on experience)
We are delighted to be recruiting a passionate and driven Design and Technology Teacher to join a thriving and well-resourced D&T department at a highly regarded secondary school in Darlington. This role is ideal for both experienced practitioners and enthusiastic Early Career Teachers (ECTs) seeking a supportive and aspirational setting in which to grow professionally.
The successful candidate will deliver creative, engaging, and practical lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, encouraging innovation, problem-solving, and independent thinking. Ability to teach one or more Design and Technology specialisms—such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Engineering, Graphics, or Food Technology—would be highly advantageous.
- Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress, providing meaningful feedback to support achievement
- Contribute to the ongoing development of a high-quality Design & Technology curriculum
- Actively participate in departmental meetings, CPD, and wider school initiatives
