Are you a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity within a primary school? We are currently looking for a General Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Dorchester, supporting pupils within a Year 3 classroom. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to helping children thrive and enjoys working as part of a supportive school team.
The Role
- Support the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required
- Help pupils remain focused, motivated and engaged with their learning
- Assist with classroom preparation and organisation
- Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development
- Encourage positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the school
About You
- Previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary school setting
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, caring and nurturing approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A proactive and flexible attitude
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable, but we also welcome applications from candidates with relevant childcare, education, youth work or transferable experience.
