Are you an experienced tutor or educator who is seeking flexible and rewarding work where you can make a difference?
TP Tutors are actively recruiting one- to - one Tutors in Dorchester to deliver face-to-face tuition to young people currently outside of mainstream education.
This is more than a tutoring role - this is your chance to help young people rebuild their confidence, overcome personal barriers, and re-engage with learning through delivering bespoke and targeted tuition.
Responsibilities
As a tutor, you will support learners with a variety of additional needs such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, anxiety and school avoidance, using a personalised, patient, and creative approach.
- Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions in homes or community settings.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with learners.
- Adapt lessons to suit individual needs and learning styles.
- Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Support both academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
- Help students re-engage with education and achieve realistic goals.
- Track progress and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders.
- Who We\'re Looking For
We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, including teachers, ex-teachers, SLD/MLD teachers, tutors, teaching assistants, SENCO, SEN professionals, youth workers, mentors, and intervention specialists.
To be suitable for the role, you will have
- A minimum of 1 year experience working with children or young people (SEN experience desirable).
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- The ability to adapt your teaching style to individual needs.
- Access to transport or willingness to travel locally.
To be considered, you must have
- The right to work in the UK
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
- Two years of recent, verifiable professional references.
