Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Primary Behaviour Support Assistant to join one of our partner primary schools in Doncaster. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them to re-engage positively with learning and school life.
The Role
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils, implementing tailored behaviour strategies in line with individual support plans.
- Working collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to promote a consistent and nurturing approach to behaviour management.
- Supporting pupils in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence within the classroom and during unstructured times.
- Using positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies to maintain a calm and inclusive learning environment.
- Contributing to the wider school community by modelling patience, empathy, and professionalism at all times.
About You
- Have prior experience supporting children with behavioural, emotional, or mental health needs (experience in education, youth work, or care settings is advantageous).
- Demonstrate a calm, patient, and consistent approach when supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviours.
- Be confident in implementing positive behaviour interventions and restorative practices.
- Possess strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues.
- Hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS certificate.
