We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and flexible Teaching Assistant to support a primary school in Sunderland. This is a part-time role working within KS2, providing 1:1 support to a pupil who attends school during morning sessions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil
  • Assisting with learning activities and classroom engagement
  • Supporting the pupil with emotional regulation and behaviour management
  • Building a positive and trusting relationship to help the pupil thrive
  • Working closely with teaching staff to implement effective strategies

What We’re Looking For

  • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience working with children
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of SEND
  • Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour
  • A patient, calm, and resilient approach
  • Willingness to learn and implement strategies to support emotional regulation
  • Flexibility to work part-time hours (mornings)
