Supply Teaching Assistant – September Start

Plymouth & Surrounding Areas

Monday–Friday | 8:30am–3:30pm | Term-Time Only

Teaching Personnel are recruiting Supply Teaching Assistants to support a range of mainstream and SEN schools across Plymouth from September 2026. This flexible role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience across different school settings while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Whether you are experienced in education, looking to return to schools, or keen to build experience within SEN and mainstream environments, we would love to hear from you.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Working across both mainstream and specialist SEN settings
  • Assisting teachers with classroom learning and behaviour support
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs including ASD, SEMH, ADHD, and communication needs
  • Helping to create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
  • Flexible supply opportunities with options for daily, short-term, and long-term work

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Available Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm during term time
  • Positive, reliable, and adaptable attitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable working in different schools and classroom environments
  • SEN experience is beneficial but not essential
