We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm and inclusive primary school in DE22, working within their Enhanced Resource Unit (ERU). This specialist provision supports children with an approved EHCP who require additional, individualised support to thrive in their learning and development.

About the Role

  • Provide tailored support to children with a range of SEND needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver individual learning plans
  • Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive learning attitudes
  • Assist with interventions, small-group activities, and one-to-one support
  • Contribute to progress assessments and daily reports where required

About You

  • Experience supporting children with SEND (including autism, communication needs, learning difficulties, or SEMH)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Level 2 or Level 3 in Childcare, or similar (desirable)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • An understanding of EHCPs and personalised support strategies
  • A passion for helping children achieve their full potential
  • Enhanced, Child Only DBS on the update service
  • A willingness to be part of a collaborative and caring team
