Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Are you a passionate and resilient educational leader committed to transforming the lives of young people? We are seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher to join our Alternative Provision setting in the Thrapston area. The school currently has 35 pupils on roll.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior leader or ambitious middle leader ready to take the next step in their career within a supportive and dynamic environment.

About the Role

As Deputy Headteacher, you will work closely with the Headteacher to provide strategic leadership, promote high standards of teaching and learning, and ensure positive outcomes for pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), behavioural challenges, or barriers to mainstream education.

You will play a key role in:

  • Supporting the day-to-day leadership and management of the provision
  • Leading on behaviour, safeguarding, attendance and pupil wellbeing
  • Driving high-quality teaching, learning and curriculum development
  • Coaching and developing staff to achieve excellence
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, families, external agencies and local authorities
  • Promoting an inclusive, nurturing and trauma-informed culture

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Proven leadership experience within education, ideally within Alternative Provision, SEMH or specialist settings
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and lead staff and pupils alike
  • A commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people
