Teaching Personnel is recruiting caring and committed SEND Learning Support Assistants to work closely with individual pupils in supportive schools across Dawlish and the surrounding areas. Role: SEND Learning Support Assistant
Pay Rate: £90–£100 per day
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs throughout the school day
- Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs and learning style
- Support the implementation of EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour support plans
- Promote independence, engagement, and confidence in learning
- Support emotional wellbeing, communication, and behaviour regulation
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider support staff to ensure consistent support
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND (desirable but not essential)
- Transferable experience (e.g. care, youth work, psychology, mentoring, family SEND experience)
- A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine desire to support pupils and develop within education
