Teaching Personnel are recruiting energetic and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support pupils within a specialist SEN school in Darwen. This role is focused on EYFS and primary‑aged pupils with complex needs and is ideal for individuals who enjoy being active, engaging and hands‑on throughout the school day. No two days are the same in this rewarding setting. Staff play a vital role in helping children access learning, develop communication skills and achieve important developmental milestones in a safe and nurturing environment.
The role will involve:
- Supporting EYFS and primary‑aged pupils with a range of complex special educational needs
- Providing one‑to‑one and small group support throughout the school day
- Assisting pupils with communication, sensory and learning activities
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive engagement in learning
- Encouraging independence and the development of life skills
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals
- Supporting personal care where required
- Remaining active and on your feet for much of the day, including moving between activities and supporting pupils throughout the school environment
