Are you a passionate and adaptable Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming SEN school in Darwen on an ad-hoc basis through our agency.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide classroom and one-to-one support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health challenges. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with diverse SEN needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and interventions.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Help pupils develop independence, confidence, and social skills.
  • Maintain a nurturing and safe classroom environment.

Previous experience working in an SEN or mainstream school setting (essential).

Understanding of autism, ADHD, SEMH, or other additional needs.

A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children.

Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to apply).

Flexibility and availability for ad hoc cover at short notice.
