Role Overview
We are currently recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a specialist school setting in Crowborough. This is a rewarding role supporting children and young people with a range of SEND and SEMH needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and feel safe and supported within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils in the classroom to engage with learning activities and routines.
- Assist with differentiated tasks to meet individual learning needs.
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication and behaviour in line with agreed strategies.
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams and external professionals.
- Contribute to a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Safeguarding & DBS
All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (child workforce) or be willing to apply for one through Teaching Personnel. Candidates will be required to cover the cost of the DBS; however, this is a valuable investment as it enables access to ongoing school-based work. Full support will be provided throughout the DBS process. All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
