Teaching Personnel are working with schools in the NP8 area seeking hardworking, adaptable, and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support pupils on a 1:1 basis, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), complex needs, and Pica. This is a rewarding role for individuals who are patient, resilient, and committed to supporting children with additional needs.
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with ASD and complex needs
- Support sensory, communication, and behavioural development
- Follow individual learning and behaviour plans
- Promote safe behaviours and supervise pupils closely where required
- Support emotional regulation and engagement in learning
- Assist with routines, transitions, and structured activities
- Work closely with teachers and SEN staff
- Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
Experience with SEN/ALN, particularly ASD:
- Understanding of Pica (or willingness to learn)
- Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour support
- Calm, patient, and consistent approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible and proactive attitude
- Compassionate and child‑centred
- Resilient and reliable
- Attentive to safety and wellbeing
- Adaptable in a dynamic school environment
