About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Holmes Chapel. This is a full‑time role running until August, ideal for someone passionate about helping children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and school leadership to provide high‑quality support within the classroom and, where required, on a one‑to‑one or small‑group basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
- Work with individuals or small groups to reinforce learning and provide targeted support.
- Assist in the preparation of classroom materials, displays, and resources.
- Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
- Support children with varying needs, including those with SEND.
- Supervise pupils during breaktimes, lunchtime, and transitions as required.
- Contribute to tracking and reporting pupil progress.

Person Specification
Essential:
- Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
- A supportive and nurturing approach to working with young learners.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to use initiative and follow guidance from teaching staff.
- Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
Desirable:
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND.
- First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of phonics schemes (e.g., Read Write Inc, Little Wandle).
