Teaching Personnel is recruiting caring and committed SEND Outdoor Learning Support Assistants to work closely with pupils in schools across Crediton. Role

  • Pay Rate: £105–£115 per day
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract: Full‑time, Term Time Only
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 or small group support to pupils in outdoor learning sessions
  • Adapt activities to meet individual learning needs and abilities
  • Support the implementation of EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour support plans in practical settings
  • Promote independence, confidence, and engagement through outdoor learning
  • Support emotional wellbeing, communication, and behaviour regulation
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and wider support staff to ensure consistent support

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND (desirable but not essential)
  • Transferable experience (e.g. care, youth work, outdoor education, family SEND experience)
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • A genuine desire to support pupils and develop within education
