Teaching Personnel is seeking caring and committed SEND Outdoor Learning Support Assistants to support pupils in schools across Exeter and the surrounding areas.

Role Details

  • Location: Exeter & surrounding areas
  • Pay: £105–£115 per day
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Contract: Full-time, term time only
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 or small group support during outdoor learning sessions
  • Adapt activities to meet individual needs and abilities
  • Support EHCPs, IEPs, and behaviour plans in practical settings
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement
  • Support emotional wellbeing, communication, and behaviour regulation
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and support staff

  • Experience supporting children with SEND (desirable but not essential)
  • Transferable experience (e.g. care, youth work, outdoor education, or personal SEND experience)
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive attitude
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
