About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll supervise classes of students aged 11–16 in the absence of the class teacher. Your role will be to ensure pupils stay engaged with pre-prepared lesson materials and maintain a calm, focused learning environment across a range of subjects. You may also provide some support to students with special educational needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and oversee pre-set lessons across a variety of subjects for pupils aged 11–16.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
  • Encourage and maintain pupil focus and participation.
  • Offer appropriate support to SEN pupils when required.
  • Report back to teaching staff on pupil progress and classroom conduct.
