Teaching Personnel are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in the Waterlooville area. About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for supervising classes of students aged 11–16 in the absence of the class teacher. You will ensure pupils remain engaged with pre-prepared lesson materials while maintaining a calm and focused learning environment across a range of subjects. The role may also include providing support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and supervise pre-set lessons across various subjects for students aged 11–16.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, following the school’s policies and expectations.
- Keep students engaged, focused, and on task throughout the lesson.
- Offer appropriate support to SEN pupils where needed.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil behaviour, engagement, and progress.
Who We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working with secondary-aged students is desirable, particularly experience supporting SEN pupils.
- Confidence in managing classroom dynamics and adapting to different situations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students.
