Teaching Personnel is recruiting a compassionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to work within a supportive specialist SEN school in the Portsmouth (Cosham) area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
About the Role
As an SEN LSA, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils
- Assisting teachers with adapting learning activities and resources
- Supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Encouraging and reinforcing positive behaviour strategies
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff
- Supporting personalised learning plans to help pupils reach their full potential
About You
- Experience working in an SEN setting is desirable but not essential
- A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach
