Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs in primary schools across Liskeard, Bodmin, Wadebridge, and surrounding areas. About the Role:
- As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with one child, supporting them throughout the school day to ensure they can access learning and feel safe, supported, and engaged.
- Your responsibilities may include:
- Providing 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s individual needs
- Supporting children with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs)
- Assisting with classroom activities and adapting learning materials
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals
- Building a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working with children or young people (school, care, youth work, or similar)
- A patient, calm, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Resilience and the ability to adapt to individual needs
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs (Relevant qualifications are beneficial but not essential—personal qualities are key.)
