We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in the Chorley area. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
The Role
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
- Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour, and engagement in learning
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment
- Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external professionals
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with SEN and/or SEMH pupils
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Patient, calm, and empathetic approach
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
