SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role – September Start in Durham. Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term Time Only). Supply Contract.
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a welcoming primary school in Durham, starting in September. This is a highly rewarding role, ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a real difference to their educational journey.
As an SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs
- Work closely with the class teacher to adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
- Support the pupil’s academic progress as well as their social and emotional development
- Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
- Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence within the classroom
- Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment

- Have previous experience working in a UK school or similar setting
- Have experience supporting children with SEND (essential for this role)
- Be patient, nurturing, and resilient in challenging situations
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Be reliable and able to commit to a full-time, term-time position
