To support this vision, we are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and highly organised Family Support Worker to join our pastoral team.

As our Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting families to overcome barriers that may impact children’s learning, attendance, or wellbeing. You will work closely with staff, parents, external agencies, and community partners to ensure that every child has the support they need to flourish.

Contract: Full-time

Location: Colne

Start date: Monday 23rd February 2026

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children, parents, and carers.
  • Provide early help support to families experiencing difficulties, including attendance, behaviour, routines, or emotional wellbeing.
  • Deliver 1:1 and group support sessions for pupils and parents.
  • Liaise with external agencies (e.g., social care, health, community services) and attend multi‑agency meetings.
  • Support safeguarding processes and work closely with the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Keep clear, confidential records and contribute to support plans (e.g., TAF/Early Help assessments).
  • Promote positive attendance and home–school engagement.
  • Signpost families to community resources and services.

  • Warm, approachable, and able to build strong relationships with families.
  • Experienced in working with children and families in a school, community, social care, or similar setting.
  • Knowledgeable about safeguarding procedures and Early Help processes.
  • Confident working with multi‑agency partners.
  • Organised, resilient, and able to manage a varied caseload.
  • Passionate about improving outcomes for children.
