Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant to work at one of our SEMH schools in Colchester! The school supports boys aged 10–16 with a range of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing a safe, supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to achieve both socially and academically without limits.
The Role:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Supporting students to engage positively with learning and develop emotional regulation skills.
- Building strong, consistent relationships to help pupils feel safe, supported, and motivated.
- Assisting teachers in delivering a flexible and personalised curriculum tailored to individual needs.
- Encouraging pupils to make positive choices, build confidence, and develop independence.
- Supporting behaviour management strategies and promoting a calm, structured learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate:
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, behaviour, care, or youth work backgrounds. (Desirable)

- Is passionate about helping young people achieve positive outcomes.
- Previous sports coaching or PE based hobbies would be a bonus!
