About the Role: We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Classroom Support Assistants with a focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN) to support a range of schools across the WN8 area. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils who require additional support to access learning.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties, both in and out of the classroom
- Work closely with class teachers to deliver tailored learning activities and interventions
- Provide 1:1 or small group support, adapting learning materials to meet individual needs
- Assist in managing behaviour positively, following school policies and behaviour plans
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and social development
- Assist with personal care where required (training can be provided)
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and SENCOs
- Encourage pupil independence and confidence in their learning
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN (school-based or similar)
- A patient, nurturing, and flexible approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA) are desirable but not essential
