We are recruiting for a
Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH provision in Chorley from September.
This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday, with the opportunity to progress from a temporary position to a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs , associated anxiety and additional SEND requirements.

Pupils benefit from tailored support designed to help them rebuild confidence, develop resilience and re-engage with education.
As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students who may display challenging behaviour.
- Support learners both inside and outside of the classroom.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and promote emotional regulation.
- Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external professionals.
- Encourage engagement, confidence and independence.
- Help create a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.
We are looking for someone who
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs.
- Has a calm, resilient and patient approach.
- Can build strong professional relationships and act as a positive role model.
- Is confident managing challenging behaviour in a consistent and supportive manner.
- Has experience in education, youth work, care, support work, sports coaching or similar sectors (desirable).
- Holds a valid DBS on the Update Service or is willing to obtain one.
- Full-time position, Monday to Friday.
