Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Childhood Studies graduates to work as Teaching Assistants (TAs) within secondary schools starting in September and on an ongoing basis. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to build confidence in the classroom, develop your skillset, and make a genuine difference in students’ academic journeys - all within supportive and welcoming school environments.
The Role
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions to support student progress
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support students with varying needs
- Apply and strengthen your subject knowledge in a real classroom setting
- Support classroom management and contribute to a focused learning atmosphere
Who We’re Looking For
- A degree in Early Childhood Studies (or similar early years/child development discipline)
- A genuine interest in working with young people and pursuing a career in education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence, adaptability, and a proactive approach
- The ability to maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning
- Previous school or youth-based experience (desirable but not essential)
- An understanding of SEND needs (such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or speech and language) is highly desirable
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one, as well as satisfactory background checks
