Teaching Personnel are working closely with a supportive and inclusive school in the Brighton & Hove area that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Child Mentor to join their team. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

As a Child Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils who require additional guidance both academically and emotionally. You will work closely with students on a 1:1 basis and within small groups, helping them develop confidence, resilience, and positive behaviours that enable them to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

The Role:

  • Provide tailored mentoring support to pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Act as a positive role model, building strong and trusting relationships with students
  • Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Encourage positive engagement in learning and school life
  • Help students develop self-confidence, independence, and emotional regulation skills
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupil progress

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working with children or young people in an educational, mentoring, coaching, or support setting
  • Is a strong role model who can inspire and motivate young people
  • Demonstrates patience, resilience, and excellent communication skills
  • Has experience supporting pupils with additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or behavioural challenges
  • Is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people

Position Details:

  • Location: Brighton & Hove
  • Travel: Accessible by bus and car
  • Pay: £360 – £460 per week
  • Contract: Temp-to-Perm
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
  • DBS: Enhanced Child Workforce DBS required
