SEND Teaching Assistants (2 Positions Available)
Reception & Year 1 | Primary Mainstream School | Start Date: September
We are seeking two enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join our welcoming primary mainstream school from September. These are rewarding opportunities to support young children with additional needs and make a real difference to their learning and development.
Position 1: 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant
- Based in Reception or Year 1
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child with speech and language needs and global developmental delay
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals to implement personalised support strategies
Position 2: SEND Teaching Assistant
- Based in Reception or Year 1
- Supporting a child with a similar level of need, with some periods of 1:1 support
- Delivering small group interventions alongside general classroom Teaching Assistant responsibilities
- Helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment for all pupils
We are looking for candidates who
- Have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly speech and language needs and/or developmental delay (desirable)
- Are patient, nurturing, and committed to helping every child achieve their potential
- Can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Are flexible, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Have good communication and organisational skills
