We are currently recruiting experienced and dedicated 1:1 Tutors to provide personalised support to pupils in home or school settings across the S40 area. This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people who may require additional educational support due to gaps in learning, SEN/SEND needs, anxiety, school avoidance, or other barriers to education. You will deliver tailored tuition sessions to help pupils build confidence, re‑engage with learning, and achieve positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 tuition sessions
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to suit individual learning needs
- Support pupils academically, emotionally, and socially
- Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and schools
- Encourage confidence, engagement, and independence in learning
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate session records
- Create a safe and supportive learning environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year teaching or tutoring experience within the UK
- Experience working with children or young people
- Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
- Patient, reliable, and flexible approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Driving licence and access to transport preferred
- SEN/SEND experience
- Experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, or anxiety
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or tutoring background
- Experience delivering English, Maths, or Functional Skills support
