About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Primary School Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Sandbach. This is a full-time, fixed-term role beginning in September and continuing until the February Half-Term.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Key Stage 1 class, delivering high-quality teaching and creating an engaging, inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and creative lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum.
- Create a positive, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment that fosters curiosity and confidence.
- Monitor and track pupil progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to pupils and parents.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and leadership to support whole-school priorities.
- Contribute to behaviour management and maintain high expectations for learning and conduct.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies when required.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school events.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure the welfare and safety of all pupils.
Person Specification
Essential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, whether through previous roles or placements.
- Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Ability to create inclusive and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
Desirable
- Experience working with SEN pupils or delivering targeted interventions.
- Familiarity with phonics programmes such as Little Wandle, Read Write Inc, or Letters and Sounds.
- Experience delivering continuous provision or play-based learning approaches.
