A friendly and supportive primary school in Macclesfield is seeking an enthusiastic and committed KS1 Primary School Teacher to join their team from September until the February half-term. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a Key Stage 1 class, delivering engaging lessons that support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development, while maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum.
- Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and confidence.
- Assess, monitor and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual learning needs.
- Use effective behaviour management strategies to support a safe and productive classroom.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and senior leaders.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Contribute to staff meetings, planning sessions and school activities when required.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and policies are followed at all times.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (ECTs welcome to apply).
- Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Ability to plan differentiated lessons to meet a range of abilities.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A positive, flexible and professional approach to teaching.
Desirable
- Experience delivering phonics (e.g. Read Write Inc, Little Wandle, or similar).
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs.
- Familiarity with continuous provision or play-based learning.
