How to prepare for a job interview at Teaching Personnel
✨Know Your EYFS Inside Out
Make sure you brush up on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Familiarise yourself with the key areas of learning and development, as well as how to create a stimulating environment for young learners. This knowledge will help you answer questions confidently and demonstrate your passion for early years education.
✨Showcase Your Classroom Management Skills
Be prepared to discuss your approach to managing a classroom effectively. Think of specific examples where you've created a safe and nurturing environment, and how you've dealt with challenges. Schools want to see that you can maintain a positive atmosphere while ensuring that all children feel supported.
✨Highlight Your Teamwork Experience
Collaboration is key in a primary school setting. Be ready to talk about your experiences working with teaching assistants and other staff members. Share examples of how you've worked together to enhance the learning experience for pupils, as this will show that you're a team player who values collaboration.
✨Prepare Questions for Them
Interviews are a two-way street, so think of some thoughtful questions to ask about the school and its approach to EYFS. This not only shows your interest in the role but also helps you gauge if the school is the right fit for you. Ask about their support for new teachers or how they implement safeguarding procedures.
