Teaching Personnel are seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in primary schools across the NP16 area. This is a rewarding role supporting children with a range of additional learning needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and developmental delays. If you have strong SEN experience and a passion for helping pupils thrive, this could be an excellent next step.
About the Role
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ALN/SEN needs.
- Use consistent behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
- Adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning requirements.
- Support emotional regulation and confidence-building in pupils.
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff teams.
- Help create a calm, inclusive and well-structured learning environment.

Who We're Looking For
Must-Haves:
- Experience or willingness to support pupils with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, GDD, etc.).
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- A calm, resilient and nurturing approach.
- DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
Nice-to-Haves:
- Training such as Team Teach, Autism Awareness or SEMH support.
- Experience supporting IDPs or personalised learning plans.
- Experience assisting pupils with sensory needs or communication delays.
