Teaching Personnel are seeking a committed and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in primary schools across the NP16 area. This is a rewarding role supporting children with a range of additional learning needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and developmental delays. If you have strong SEN experience and a passion for helping pupils thrive, this could be an excellent next step.

About the Role

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ALN/SEN needs.
  • Use consistent behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
  • Adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning requirements.
  • Support emotional regulation and confidence-building in pupils.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff teams.
  • Help create a calm, inclusive and well-structured learning environment.

Who We're Looking For

Must-Haves:

  • Experience or willingness to support pupils with SEN (Autism, ADHD, SEMH, GDD, etc.).
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • A calm, resilient and nurturing approach.
  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Training such as Team Teach, Autism Awareness or SEMH support.
  • Experience supporting IDPs or personalised learning plans.
  • Experience assisting pupils with sensory needs or communication delays.
