Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming Primary school in Chepstow to recruit a dedicated Autism Support Teaching Assistant to work within their Specialist Resource Base (SRB) from September. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a specialist setting, helping them access learning, develop independence and reach their full potential in a safe, nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism
- Support pupils in communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
- Implement personalised learning and behaviour support strategies
- Work closely with the class teacher, ALNCo and wider support team
- Help create a calm, structured and engaging learning environment
- Encourage pupils' confidence, independence and personal development

- Passionate about supporting children with additional learning needs
- Able to build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Flexible, proactive and a strong team player
- Experience supporting Autism or other additional learning needs is desirable but not essential

Requirements and Eligibility
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two professional references covering the last two years
- Right to work in the UK
- A genuine passion for working with children
