ALN Teaching Assistants to join a highly respected secondary school in the Carmarthen area, supporting learners within both mainstream education and the school's specialist ALN provision.

This large and welcoming secondary school is known for its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral support and commitment to ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed.

The school's dedicated ALN provision,

Canolfan Elfed , provides tailored support for pupils who require additional assistance accessing education.

Learners within the provision benefit from specialist interventions, smaller learning groups and personalised support designed to develop both academic progress and independence.

You may support pupils with

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
• Sensory Processing Difficulties
• Anxiety and confidence-related barriers to learning

As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping pupils engage with learning, develop social skills, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes both inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities include

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Assisting pupils in accessing lessons and learning activities
• Supporting positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Encouraging independence and confidence
• Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Supporting learners during classroom activities, breaktimes and interventions
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment

• Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants
• Education and school-based roles
• Care and support work
• Sports coaching and mentoring
• Youth work
• Mental health support roles
• SEN/ALN experience

Experience supporting young people with autism, behavioural needs, learning difficulties or additional learning needs is highly desirable, but the right attitude, empathy and commitment are equally important.

To work through Teaching Personnel, applicants must

• Have the right to work in the UK
• Be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or hold one on the Update Service)
• Provide two professional references covering the last two years
• Complete Teaching Personnel's safeguarding and registration process
• Be available for full-time, term-time work
