About the Roles:
- Teaching Assistants: Work closely with teachers to provide tailored support in English and Maths, assist with planning and delivery, and help pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to achieve their academic targets.
- Specialist SEND Teaching Assistants: Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or complex learning needs. Implement IEPs, adapt learning materials, and manage behaviour using positive strategies.
What We’re Looking For:
- For Teaching Assistants: A degree in a core subject (or relevant qualification) and a genuine interest in education. Ability to support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, focusing on English and Maths. Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with teachers and provide feedback on pupil progress. Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for helping children achieve their academic targets. Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential – full training provided. Flexibility to assist with classroom activities, preparation of resources, and behaviour management.
- For Specialist SEND Teaching Assistants: Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or complex learning needs. Ability to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to meet pupils’ needs. Skills in managing challenging behaviour using positive strategies. Knowledge of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and how to support pupils in achieving their targets. A calm, patient, and resilient approach to working in a nurturing environment. Previous SEND experience is highly desirable, but training and guidance will be provided for the right candidate.
