I’m looking for a Youth Support Worker with experience in ALN to work through Teaching Personnel in a school setting. The role involves supporting pupils with additional learning needs, both academically and emotionally, with a strong focus on 1:1 support.
- Provide 1:1 support to pupils with ALN
- Deliver and support sensory play activities to aid development and engagement
- Help pupils regulate emotions and behaviour, particularly when they become overwhelmed or stressed
- Use calming strategies to de-escalate situations and support children in settling back into learning
- Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support their wellbeing
- Work alongside teachers and SEN staff to implement tailored support plans
Experience required:
- Working with ALN / SEN learners
- Background in youth work, care, or education support
- Confident supporting children with emotional regulation needs
- Patient, resilient, and proactive approach
- Ideally experience with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or behavioural needs
Availability from September
Full-time commitment (Mon–Fri)
Based locally or able to commute to CF5

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position, with the option to make this role permanent at a later date.
