Overview
Teaching Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive primary school in Cardiff seeking a proactive, caring and committed Year 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time.
This is far more than a classroom support role. You'll become a consistent and trusted adult for a class of children who thrive with positive relationships, structure and encouragement.
Role
Working closely alongside the Year 2 class teacher, you will:
- Support learning across the classroom through engaging and creative activities.
- Deliver targeted interventions and work with small groups to help children reach their potential.
- Provide emotional reassurance and consistency for pupils with a range of social and emotional needs.
- Build positive relationships with children, helping them feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
- Use your initiative to adapt to the needs of the classroom and support behaviour positively.
Qualifications
We\'re Looking For Someone Who Is:
- Experienced as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA within a primary school.
- Passionate about supporting children\'s emotional wellbeing as well as their academic progress.
- Calm, patient and resilient, with excellent relationship-building skills.
- Proactive and able to use their own initiative throughout the school day.
- Looking to build a long-term career within education.
