We are working with a Welsh-medium primary school in Cardiff that is looking for an enthusiastic and committed KS2 Teacher to join their team.

You'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers and school staff, supporting pupils across Key Stage 2 (ages 7-11) and helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing Welsh-medium environment.

This role is ideal for teachers who are passionate about primary education and want to make a positive difference to children's learning, confidence, and development.

The Role

As a Welsh-medium KS2 Teacher, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons through the medium of Welsh, while creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum through the medium of Welsh
  • Teaching pupils aged 7-11 and adapting lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs
  • Supporting pupils' development in literacy, numeracy, science, and wider curriculum subjects
  • Promoting the use and development of the Welsh language throughout the school day
  • Differentiating learning activities to support pupils of varying abilities and needs
  • Assessing and monitoring pupils' progress and providing appropriate feedback
  • Supporting pupils to develop their independence, confidence, and enthusiasm for learning
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations
  • Working closely with teaching assistants and other school staff to support pupil progress
  • Supporting pupils with additional learning needs where required
  • Building strong and positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues
  • Contributing to wider school activities, events, trips, and extracurricular opportunities
  • Maintaining accurate records of pupil progress and development
  • Promoting the wellbeing, safeguarding, and inclusion of all pupils at all times

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Fluent Welsh speaker with strong written and spoken Welsh
  • Experience teaching within a primary school environment
  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
  • Passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
  • Caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Reliable, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
  • ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply
