We are partnering with a range of welcoming Welsh-medium primary schools across Cardiff that are seeking dedicated Welsh-speaking Learning Support Assistants to join their teams. We have flexible opportunities available, including full-time, part-time, and day-to-day supply roles.
This position is perfect for anyone considering careers in teaching, additional learning needs (ALN), educational psychology, speech and language therapy, social work, or childcare. You'll gain invaluable classroom experience while supporting children with a variety of learning needs.
The Role
- Supporting pupils in Welsh-medium classrooms
- Working one-to-one and with small groups to reinforce learning
- Supporting children with additional learning needs (ALN) where appropriate
- Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
- Promoting the use of the Welsh language throughout the school day
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
What We're Looking For
- Fluent Welsh speaker with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Patient, caring, and supportive nature
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Passion for helping children succeed
- Adaptable and confident working in different school environments
- Previous experience supporting children is beneficial but not essential
